Gone Through It

You’re too tall

You’re too fat

Let’s be honest

You’re not all that

You give up too easy

You’re persistent till it hurts

You break down and cry

Because, nothing ever works

You’re one of your word

But so often you’re not

You will choose not to fight

But say that you fought

You’re a liar!

You’re a cheater

Mostly to yourself

It’s an every day thing

You expect to maintain your health

But you can’t

and you won’t

And you don’t see the light

It’s like every day

Is followed by a long, sleepless night

You were told to chase a dream

But you just didn’t have one

You were told to be yourself

But you didn’t know who you were

You’re a pessimist and a downer

You hesitantly look around you

You make excuses like a coward

You claim your chin is held high

When it’s not

You seem to be talking

in your head a lot

You hide in your depression

Because that’s where it’s warm

Because where it’s warm

You can’t breath

And you constantly mourn

You’re mourning every night

Enlightening every morning

You think you’re original

But you constantly bore me

You’re a perfect image

Of what I am not

Not anymore

Because you filled the slot

Hey, we’ve all been there

But who’s calling the shots?

You are your own

And you don’t see that

You are only yourself

And you don’t believe that

You are bigger than the problem

But you don’t have a mirror

You’re a shot in the dark

And you never appear

You’re like a horse

I can’t make you drink the water

But I swear if you try it

The sun will feel hotter

Your life will be more

And the air will be richer

You’ll laugh at yourself

when you stumble across pictures

You’ll see your old self as a joke

How you’d overreact

And solemnly spoke

You were nearly a body

without understanding

Cattle run wild

Without any branding

Branding gone bad

You were never the same thing

Same things go mad

And mad things go missing

Missing’s a word

for the life that you’re pissing

Right down the drain

With your chance of a liked career

Is you eyesight that blurred?

Is it really not clear?

Even a joke

To the common joke

You’d toke, poke, and choke

At the idea of standing

on your own two feet

But nope

Why would you do that?

You’ve got a mask

And a flask

That spews ignorance

You have a friend

With a rasp

that say nice things to us

Say you’re okay

You know it’s not true

Say you’re okay

Now you’re through

No! Say it again.

Say you’re okay.

Say it again.

Okay.

Okay.

Okay…now it’s helping you.
